“Please Be Patient With Me” is Chris’ debut EP. It’s open, honest, and raw; he recorded and produced everything by himself in his bedroom while trying not to disturb his housemates. The title acknowledges flaws (personal and musical) while highlighting achievement and potential. It’s also a polite request for individuals who listen to his music to allow time for his style to grow and develop.

“Mistake Number One” is Chris’s acoustic cover album of Ben Harper and Relentless 7’s “White Lies for Dark Times.” Paying homage to the artists who inspired him to start playing, Chris’ arrangements draw elements from Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Bob Marley, Bill Withers, Richie Havens, James Taylor, and many others. Chris sings and plays various instruments on this CD.

Chris woke up singing “All I Need To Know” in the fall of 2009. he didn’t remember hearing it before and couldn’t find it anywhere online or in print. A couple of days later, he came across a book of “America Negro Spirituals.” Taking this as a sign, he started recording arrangements of a selection of these songs.

In February 2010, Chris played an acoustic set of Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye, and Sam Cooke songs at the Broad Street Cafe in Durham, NC. Unable to record a live album of the show for people who couldn’t make it, he recorded rough acoustic tracks for everyone to hear.

Chris recorded a 12 track album of acoustic Ben Harper covers in January 2010 for his “Discovery Series” at the Broad Street Cafe in Durham, NC. Each month he covers a different artist, band, or genre. Since the first songs he learned on guitar were Ben Harper songs, they were first up in the Discovery Series.
